Irineu finishes fourth

PANJIM, MARCH 3 Verna-based Irineu Gonsalves, an international scrabble player was placed 4th at the all-India Scrabble Tourney organized by Pune Scrabble Association in collaboration with Scrabble Association of India at Poona Club, Pune, recently.

Verna-based Irineu Gonsalves, an international scrabble player was placed 4th at the all-India Scrabble Tourney organized by Pune Scrabble Association in collaboration with Scrabble Association of India at Poona Club, Pune, recently.
The competitive two-day event spanning 15 rounds and attracted players from across the country.
The champion Udayan Grover (Pune) had 12 wins. The other prize winners were 2-Nakul Prabhu( Mumbai), 3-V Ramachandran( Mumbai), 5th- Carol Pais ( Mumbai), 6th Nidhi Singhvi (Bangalore).
In the championship held in Hyderabad in November last, Irineu had defeated Udayan Grover in the final round to clinch the title.
Next on the tourney circuit is the All-India Open to be held at Padre Conceicao College of Enginering (PCCE), Verna on April 25 and 26 for the sixth consecutive year.
