Dempo SC Goa bagged the 2nd late Dr. Jack de Sequeira award for being the best team of the year at the function organised by Konkani Songit Samajik Kala Kendra at G.V. Niketan Hall, Margao..
Dempo, founded in 1966,were selected for the award for winning the I-League tittle in 2007-08 as well as for being the first Indian side to reach the 5th AFC Cup semi-finals after defeating Home United 4-3.
