PANJIM: Janisa Esabella Rodrigues  topped the list of candidates who were declared successful at the AFC C-Licence Course conducted by AIFF through GFA at Fatorda from September 10-22. She scored 78 per cent.

In all, 24 candidates went through the course with five declared passed, one pro-pass and 18 failed. The pro-pass candidate, Melvyn Chagas Rodrigues will have to appear for the theory examination again whenever the next C-Licence Course is conducted.

The candidates went through the following examinations – Practical I, Practical II, Practical III, Theory Specific, Theory General, Laws of the Game and Personal Practical Performance with all of them excelling in Laws of the Game.

Sham Mahadev Gauli, Celvin Sebasteao Fernandes, Freddy Gomes and Roque Barreto are the other four who have cleared the examination with only those scoring 60 per cent and above being declared passed. Obviously, it implies that the rest scored less than the cut off mark for passing.

Those who had an interaction with national coach Robert Ban (chief instructor) and Anthony Scott O’Donell, confirmed that the twosome were not satisfied with the candidates’ overall standard and performance and were of the overall opinion that only few could make the mark unless they showed tremendous improvement, and hence the poor results. They also stated that the assessment was not subjective but objective-oriented as can be seen from the evaluation of Laws of the Game.

Meanwhile, Bento Socorro Vaz, Mohan P Parab and Joaquim Nelson Crasto have also been declared pro-pass at the AFC C-Licence examination and will have to appear for the theory examination again.
