MAPUSA: Jawahar Club, Ponda edged past Bhagwati Sports Club 3-2 in their Second Division League match at St Cruz ground, Saturday.
Bhagwati started brightly, taking the lead in the eighth minute through Dattaraj Kankonkar.
Jawahar played good short passes and found the equalizer in the 39th minute through Alvinho Miranda’s strike.
After the restart, Amit Kankonkar netted for Bhagwati in the 50th minute to make it 2-1.
Alvinho registered his brace in the 61st minute to level the scores.
The match turned interesting at the end as the teams were trying hard to score the match-winner but it was Bhagwati’s Neliston Pereira’s injury time strike that separated the teams.
