PANJIM: Jesus and Mary Sarvajanik HS, Carambolim got the better of Sunandabhai Bandodkar HS, Carambolim 3-1 to qualify for the Ilhas Zone play-off from the Old Goa, Corlim, Carmbolim group level at Carambolim panchayat ground, Carambolim. Jesus and Mary led 2-0 at half time.
Jesus and Mary dominated and took the lead when Rankit Chaudhury converted two free kicks in the 10th and 15th minutes.
For Jesus and Mary, Vishal Vargaonkar, Myron D’Souza, Vishal Kawlekar and Jai Faterpekar manned the defence while Rankit excelled in midfield alongwith Alden D’Souza and Venriel Pereira. Vincent Pereira and Trivendra Madkaikar played well in upfront.
At the other end, Ketan Bomkar and Kiran Kundaikar played well for Sunandabhai Bandodkar.
After resumption, Jesus and Mary increased their lead when Alden D’Souza converted off a cross by Ramu Prasad. In the dying minutes, Ketan Bomkar reduced the margin for Sunandbhai.
