PANJIM: John Willcocks, Akshat Jain, Arthav Desai, Kalash Divkar finished top in their respective categories at the first triathlon for kids, organized by Enduro Sports Goa, at Campal, on Saturday.
The event saw around 50 children between the age group of six to 15 take active part. It consisted of a swim at the campal pool, cycling and running around the Miramar park.
The age categories were U-9, U-11, U-14 and U-16 with the maximum number of participants seen in the youngest age category.
The MLA of Panjim Constituency, Siddharth Kuncoliencar flagged off the event. Prizes were handed out by the Commissioner of the CCP, Sanjith Rodrigues and teacher of the Rosary HS, Mira Mar, Vinita Chico, Veeam Braganza of Frugurt and Madhurjah Borah, one of India’s top tri athletes.
All participants successfully completed the race and made history by earning the title of Goa’s youngest triathletes. The results are as follows.
U-9: 1st John Willcocks, 2nd Kyle Gaspar, 3rd Hunter Cabral. U-11: 1st Akshat Jain, 2nd Shivshak Naikk, 3rd Arthan Bortamuly. U-14: 1st Arthav Desai, 2nd Johann Pinto, 3rd Varun Jadhav. U-16: 1st Kalash Divkar, 2nd Marushka de Oliveira and 3rd Avani Khedekar.
