PANJIM: Karimabad Sports Club emerged champions of the North Zone Goa Cricket Association Division A champions defeating Madel Yuvak Sangh by seven runs in the final, played at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Friday.
Batting first, Karimabad SC scored 193 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 40 overs.
Aniket Dessai (45) and A Kazi (37) were the top run getters for the winners. Aniket scored four boundaries and two sixes during his innings.
Vidur Phadte (2/32) and Somesh Potekar (2/38) were the pick of Madel YS bowlers. Sagar Mapuskar, Anand Abishet, Basawraj Goudar were the other wicket takers.
In reply, Madel YS managed to score 186 runs as they were bundled out in the final over.
Anand Abhishet (64) was the top scorer for the losing team.
Hemansh Pancholi (2/26), A Kazi (2/26) and Buddhadev Mangaldas (2/44) impressed with the bowl for the winners.
