AMBELIM: Ambelim Queens thrashed Chinchinim Angels 5-1 in the Sevens Women’s Football Festival organised by Goa Sevens and Ambelim Sports Club, at Ambelim Sports Complex, Ambelim, on Sunday.
Chinchinim Angels were the first to open their account as Chetna Tirodkar shot straight into the nets giving the side an early lead. But the table toppers, Ambelim Queens were quick to respond, as Karishma Shirvoikar scored the leveller.
Ambelim Queen shot into the lead the next minute off a neat header by Karishma who gave the side a lead 2-1.
The star player Karishma went on to complete her hat-trick as she neatly placed her soft footer behind the nets, 3-1 in favour of the Queens at half-time.
Post resumption, Lifa Tavares scored yet another goal for Ambelim Queens as they led 4-1. Already having a formidable lead, Ambelim Queens kept aiming to score more. Karishma Shirvoikar missed in another close tap in.
The final minutes Karishma Shirvoikar added another late goal as Ambelim Queens won 5-1.
