PANJIM: An excellent all-round display by skipper Ketan Nandrekar helped Mustifund High School, Panjim get the better of AJ de Almeida High School by 30 runs in the Almeida High School Cup Cricket tournament, organized by Parents Teachers Association, at Ponda sports complex, Ponda, on Saturday.
Ketan scored a stellar 56 not out and then picked up four crucial wickets to guide his team to victory and was rightly adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
Batting first, Mustifund High School posted a mammoth 151 in allotted 18 overs.
Besides Ketan’s knock which was studded with six boundaries, Deeshank Kunkalikar scored 63, which included eight fours and two sixes.
For Almeida HS, Ashwin Jayan up three wickets for 35 runs while Vedant picked one wicket. In reply, Almeida HS were bundled out for 121 in 17 overs.
Vineet Kazi (14), Vedant (24) and Tanveer (11) could manage double figures.
Ketan Nandrekar (4 for 25), Yuvraj Madkaikar (2 for 32) and Ramchand Kauthankar (1 for 18) were the wicket takers.
