PANJIM: Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) Carambolim centre in association with Portais Sporting Club distributed football kit to 120 trainees at the Carambolim panchayat ground recently. The kit was sponsored by Deccan Fine Chemicals (I) Pvt Ltd.
Speaking at the occasion Social Worker and Chief Guest, Siddhesh Naik praised GFDC for the facilities being provided to the children and urged the trainees to use the resources provided to them efficiently. He has assured to render support towards this centre in the future.
While the Guest of honour and GFDC Member Secretary, Aleixo Da Costa requested the parents to send their children for coaching on a regular basis. He also urged the students to remain dedicated to the game and practice to achieve greater heights.
“GFDC is providing kids at a young age with football coaching so they can become good players in the future. At the same time playing a sport will keep them healthy and fit. Please attend regular coaching and at the same time give due importance to your studies,” said Costa.
Three veteran footballers from the vicinity were felicitated on the occasion namely Elizabeth Viegas, Denise Dcosta and Suresh Narvekar.
Also present for the function were St Andre Zilla Panchayat Member, Dhaku Madkaikar; Former Carambolim Sarpanch, Sunil Naik; Executive Manager Deccan Fine Chemicals (I) Pvt Ltd, Gaurau Kudchadkar; President of Portais Sporting Club and GFDC Carambolim centre head, Ryan Cardoso and also the treasurer of the club, Caetano Pereira.
