PANJIM: Krishnaraj Naik of Adarsh Gym Academy, Margao and Shradha Desai of Sports Complex, Fatorda emerged winners in the above 14 years category of the All Goa State Gymnastics Championship, organised by Goa Gymnastic Association, in their respective categories at the at Swami Vivekanand College Indoor Hall, Bori, recently.
Vishal Rathod of Kids Nest Gym Academy Ponda bagged the silver medal while Sairaj Naik of Adarsh Margao settled for silver.
In the girls category, Tasleem Shaikh of Adarsh Gym.Academy and Sara K M Paes of Panjim Gym centre secured the second and third place respectively.
Colonel Mangesh Dani (retd) graced the function as the cheif guest in the presence of Bhavana Naik, Sarpanch of Bori Panchayat, Meenanth Upadhye, president Kreeda Bharati Goa and Sudesh Thakur, founder and president of Goa Gymnastic Association and executive members of Gymnastics Federation of India.
Colonel Dani mentioned in his speech that sports should be equally given the importance along with academics and congratulated all the participants for their commitment towards the game.
Altogether 86 players participated in the championship.

In the U-10 girls: 1. Kimaya Virnodkar (Adarsh Gym.Academy-Margao); 2. Mukhya Sakhalkar ( Panjim Gym centre) 3.Aastha Prabhu (Kids Nest Gym.Academy-Ponda); U-14 girls: Rashi Gauns ( Adarsh Gym.Academy-Margao), Deeana Patil (Kreeda Bharati Centre-Margao), Sakshi Hangargekar (Kids Nest Gym.Academy-Ponda).
In the above 14 years girls: Shradha Desai (Sports Complex-Fatorda), Tasleem Shaikh ( Adarsh Gym.Academy-Margao), 3. Sara K M Paes (Panjim Gym centre)
In the U-10 boys: Aditya Joshi (Kids Nest Gym Academy, Ponda), Arish Tilve (Panjim Gym centre), Makarand Naik (Adarsh Gym Academy, Margao); U-14 boys: Abhijeet Dhere (Adarsh Gym.Academy, Margao), Krish Ballikar (Kreeda Bharati Centre, Margao), Devanshu Yelukar (Kids Nest Gym.Academy-Ponda)
Above 14 boys: Krishnaraj Naik (Adarsh Gym Academy, Margao), Vishal Rathod (Kids Nest Gym Academy, Ponda), Sairaj Naik (Adarsh Margao).
Adarsh Gym Academy bagged the team championship in the U-10 and U-14 girls. Meanwhile, Kids Nest Gym Academy Ponda won the team championship in the U-10 boys and Kreeda Bharti Centre won in the U-14 boys.
