PANJIM: Kuldip Kabadi, Arun Naik and Noel Noronha bagged the singles titles at the season ending 1st Royal Engineering Goa Veterans State Table Tennis Championships 2013, organized by the Vasco Veterans TT Club at the BITS Pilani, Sancoale, recently.
The event was sponsored by Royal Engineering Services well known Civil and Mechanical Contractors, in association with the BITS Pilani, Sancoale campus.
Top seeded, Kuldeep Kabadi beat 2nd seed Pradeep Borkar in the final to bag the 60+ title. Arun Naik beat 2nd seed Prakash Alfonso in a tense 5 setter, to win the 50+ crown.
Noel Noronha beat 2nd seed, Dinesh Shetty in straight sets in the 40+ finals.
GVTTA President, Prakash Alfonso condoled the death of former Goa state tt player and veteran, Jayant Kudchadkar from Churchorem and Raguraman, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Veterans Table Tennis Association.
All veterans and players observed a minute’s silence, in memory of the departed veterans and signed the open condolence register.
R.K. Choudhary was the chief guest and P.S. Roy, the guest of honour. Dr. R.P. Pradhan welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Dinesh Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.
