MAPUSA: Dempo Sports Club hammered Ronit Sports Club 19-0 in the GFA U-18 League match, played at Duler Stadium, here on Friday.
Larryl Mascarenhas (7 goals) and Bors De Melo (6 goals) shared thirteen goals between them.
The match started and it was the Dempo colts, who held the upper hand throughout the proceedings.
Ronit managed to restrict the Golden Eagles to scoring just two goals in the first session, however the second half was another story altogether.
Dempo broke the deadlock in the 15th minute of play when Daren Fernandes sent the ball to Boris De Melo who fired a low grounder to the far corner of the Ronit nets, 1-0.
Thereon Ronit keeper Sankit brought about three fine save to deny Jeswin Fernandes, Ivan Costa and Daren Fernandes from scoring. However minutes later there was little he could do to stop Larryl Mascarenhas hot blooded shot from entering the nets, 2-0.
Changing ends Dempo were all over their rivals and fired in goals through Boris De Melo (5), Larryl Mascarenhas (6), Sarineo Fernandes, Ivan Costa(3), Jeswin Fernandes(2) to finish off the match at 19-0.
