PANJIM: Lenny Rodrigues and Mariano Dias were awarded the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards at the 7th Dr. Jack De Sequeira Memorial Awards. While Churchill Brothers Sports Club were awarded the team of the year in recognition of their I-League triumph.
Lenny Rodrigues thanked his family for their support in helping him pursue professional football. He also thanked club owner Churchill Alemao for keeping faith in him and
Giving him an opportunity to play at the top most level in Indian football. “I would also like to thank God for his blessings and thank my team- mates, coaches, friends and finally the fans who have supported me and the team through thick and thin.”
Head Coach of Churchill Brothers Goa, Mariano Dias said “It is a recognition of mine and the team’s hard work. It was a team effort in winning the I-league. I would like to thank the club owner Churchill Alemao for having faith in me and the team and for his continuous effort in helping Indian football grow.”
