PANJIM: Leon Mendonca moved to joint second position collecting seven points after the eighth round at 27th National U-7 open and girls chess championship in Pune.
He defeated Prajal Koli (1138). Leon will play Aditya Mittal in the next round. Suyash Pai is on five points, Pratik Borkar on four, Vernon Colaco on 3.5 points. In girls section, Sanvi Naik Gaonkar is on five points, Alaya D’Cruz on 4.5 points, Stuti Pai on four.
