PANJIM: CM Leon Mendonca is still on joint first position with seven points after losing to FM Pragganandhaa R (1969) of Tamil Nadu at the end of eight round of 28th National Under-9 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2014, Puduchery, on Sunday.
Om Barde, Vernon Colaso and Sharath Shanbhagh are on five points. Om defeated Manooneeth (1099) of Puduchery.
Harsh Dagare is on 4.5 points and Aayush Shirodkar on 3.5 points.
In the girls section, Gunjal Chopdekar drew with WFM Divya Deshmukh (1564) of Maharashtra. She moved on to 6.5 points and is in joint second position.
Alaina Pereira (5 points) defeated Allaya D’Cruz. Tanvi Hadkonkar, Allaya Druz, and Charuta Shetye are on four points and Mayuri Chari is on 3.5 points.
