PANJIM: Candidate Master and Geno Brand Ambassador Leon Mendonca has yet again made our State proud by winning gold at the CBSE School’s National Team Chess Championship – 2017 in the U-14 mixed category, held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, recently.
Other team members of The Vellamal Vidyalaya School comprised of Gukesh D, Sanjay DG and Sai Sujan S.
Leon was also awarded gold as ‘Board Prize’ for all games played.
Altogether, 18 selected teams from across the country participated in the week long tournament.
Delhi Public School, Rourkela and Presidium School, Haryana were awarded the Silver and Bronze respectively.
