MAPUSA: Chapora Yuvak Sangh proved to be too good as they drubbed Saligao United Sports Club 7-1 in the GFA’s 3rd Division League, at Chapora ground, on Sunday.
Chapora went into the breather with a two-goal cushion as Lesten Martins scored a quick brace in the fourth and fifth minutes.
On crossing over, Lesten Martins netted in two more goals, while Pundalik Madgaonkar and Aniket Dabolkar(2) accounted for the next three goals for Chapora.
Nestor Dias scored a consolation goal for Saligao United.
Meanwhile, hosts FC Siolim managed to hold Siolim Sodiem Sports Club to a 1-1 draw, at Siolim ground.
Sonu Mandrekar put Sodiem ahead in the 13th minute of the first session with a power-packed right footer from outside the penalty box. On crossing ends, Rahul Totad equalised in the 49th minute from a goalmouth melee.
