PANJIM: The inaugural day of the All-India LIC Games 2023-24 marked the commencement of matches across various disciplines, set to continue until tomorrow at the Peddem Multipurpose Stadium.
The volleyball results are as follows: South Zone emerged victorious against North Central Zone (2-0) with scores of 25-14 and 25-12.
Western Zone secured a win over Eastern Zone (2-0) with scores of 25-10 and 25-15.
South Central Zone claimed victory against East Central Zone (2-0) with scores of 25-11 and 25-5.
North Zone triumphed over Central Zone (2-0) with scores of 25-12 and 25-8.
The games were inaugurated by Siddhartha Mohanty, Chairperson of LIC of India, in the esteemed presence of Kamal Kumar, Zonal Manager (Western Zone), Salil Vishwanath, Executive Director (OD/HRD), Aditya Gupta, Executive Director (CC), and Sandeep Kumar, Chief Personnel. Participants from the eight zones across India showcased unity and solidarity in a vibrant march. International carrom player Prakash Gaekwad administered the oath on behalf of the assembled players, while Neeta Menghani, Divisional Manager of Goa, extended the vote of thanks.
