PANJIM: Life Insurance Corporation of India’s (Goa Division) will organize its 48th Western Zonal level table tennis tournament on July 3 and 4, at indoor sports stadium, Campal, here.
The tournament will be inaugurated by S Vilkhoo, Sr. Divisional Manager, LIC of India, Goa Division, in the presence of Rajesh Midha, Regional Manager (HRD), LIC of Western Zone.
The first day will include league matches in the forenoon followed by knockout stages in the afternoon. The second and final day will comprise of quarters, semis and play-off matches for the third and fourth places with the finals in the men’s and women’s sections scheduled at around 4.30 p.m.
Employee participants of LIC from 23 divisions across the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa are participating. 27 men and 24 women are in the fray for the top prizes.
The top four finishers in the men’s and women’s sections would be eligible to represent LIC’s Western Zone in all-India LIC Games 2014-15, scheduled in the first week of November.
