FATORDA/MAPUSA: Loyola High School, Margao thumped Miracles High School, Sanguem 4-0 to book their place in the final of the U-14 Subroto Mukherjee South District boys football tournament organized by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda on Monday.
Loyola HS led 2-0 at the breather. Ashnoy Gama gave an early lead to Loyola in the fifth minute. Later, Massimo Moraes scored two goals in the 27th & 45th minutes while Jessel Fernandes added another in the 47th minute for Loyola HS.
They will now meet OL of Perpetual Succour HS, Navelim for the South District title clash on August 13.
In the North district zone at Duler Stadium, Fr Agnel High School, Pilar will clash with Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, Arambol in the final
In the first semi-final, Fr Agnel High School, Pilar scored a solitary goal win over Progress High School, Sakhali. Topon Minj scored the all important goal in the second half of the match.
In the second semi-final match, Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, Arambol totally dominated the entire proceeding by scoring four quick goals in the first 10 minutes of the match against St Anthony High School Monte-Guirim.
Reviel D’mello, Munna Roy, Delvin Coelho and Shawn Mendes scored for the Arambol school while Soham Naik of Guirim manage to score one back in the second half of the match.
