SERAULIM: Loyola HS, Margao, had to sweat it out to beat Fr Agnel Ashram Verna 2-1 in the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa U-14 inter-school football tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in collaboration with The Base Goa and played at the Base, Seraulim.
Loyola HS scored through Evan Ferrao and Mitson Barbosa. Snedden Vaz reduced the margin for Fr. Agnel Ashram.
Mount Marys HS, Chinchinim blanked Mae Dos Pobres HS, Nuvem 2-0. Godfrey Simoes and Crevon Rebello scored for the winners.
Infant Jesus HS, Colva, edged past St Thomas HS, Cansaulim, 3-2. Infant Jesus scored through Vijay Gudimani’s brace and Russel Fernandes. Samroy D’Souza scored a goal and another self goal assisted St Thomas Cansaulim to reduce the margin.
Vidya Vikas HS, Margao defeated St Pius HS, Orlim 3-2. Ronan Leitao scored a brace and Ritchie scored a goal for Vidya Vikas. Jorell Fernandes and Sladen Gonsalves scored a goal each to reduce the margin for St. Pius Orlim.
Mount Mary HS, Chinchinim, downed St Anthony’s, Majorda, 3-1. Mount Mary scored through Godfrey Simoes twice and one goal came through the boots of Rakesh Singha. Flinn Baretto scored a consolation goal for St. Anthony’s Majorda.
St Aloysius HS, Benaulim pipped St Thomas HS, Cansaulim 1-0. The all important goal was scored by Caydan Rodrigues.
In the girls’ category, Manovikas HS, Margao defeated St. Anthony’s HS, Majorda 4-0. Manovikas scored a brace through Shanaya George, Valusha and Angel were the other scorers scoring a goal each.
Perpetual Succour, Navelim ran over Presentation Convent HS, 5-0. Perpetual scored a brace through Venicia Carvalho, Vania Godinho and Clea Colaco scored a goal each and a self goal helped Pepertual score their fifth goal.
