RAIA: Loyola High School, Margao got the better of Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim, 3-1 to move into the semi-finals of the Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournament of the match, played at SVD Ashram ground, Damon Raia, on Tuesday.
Ainsley Fernandes netted a hat-trick for Loyola’s in the 5th, 15th and in the 21st minute while Velito Rocha pulled a goal back for Our Lady of Health HS in the 18th minute.
In the second match, Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda defeated Our Lady of Succor, Nagoa by a 1-0 deficit and moved into the semi-finals. In the 2nd minute,
Yash Naik of Our Lady of Succor HS, Nagoa should have converted but the rival keeper saved it. In the third minute, Prithvi Motto netted the first goal for Our Lady of Rosary with a placement shot.
Simon Pereira the young trickster of Succor HS made some good moves in the forefront but missed opportunities in the 14th and 16th minute.
Fatorda led by a 1-0 deficit at the breather.
In the second half, Micheal Dias and Sydele Araujo of Rosary made some good moves but failed to convert. Jordan Borges of Fatorda shot the ball only to find it hit the rival post and went out of play just two minutes before the final whistle.
