Loyola HS pip St Rita HS, march into semis

The Margao school won 6-5 via tie-breaker; OL Rosary HS, Bethany Convent and OL Snow HS march on

FATORDA: Loyola High School, Margao defeated St Rita High School, Maina-Curtorim 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the U-14 boys Subroto Mukherjee Salcette taluka football tournament organised by DSYA, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on Thursday.
St Rita’s striker Julius Carvalho dribbled past a couple of Loyola defenders and netted the opening goal past Loyola’s keeper Reer Goes who was caught in the 7th minute. Later Loyola HS’s striker Ashney Gomes equalised with a placement shot.
In the resultant tie-breaker Loyola High School netted through Hayden Fernandes, Mark Rodrigues, Askney Gomes, Flann Crasto and Reev Goes while Mervin Fernandes, Aran Cutinho, Julius Carvalho and Dylon Sequeira scored for St Rita High School.
In another match, Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda blanked St Xavier’s High School, Velim 3-0 to move into the semi-final.
Micheal Dias netted a brace while Pravin Khole netted a goal for Our Lady of Rosary High School.
Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal outplayed St Joseph Convent High School, Aquem 3-1 to move into the semis. 
Aryan Carvalho, Sarvesh Palkar and Veron Rocha netted a goal each for Bethany Convent HS while Sefton Barreto scored a consolation goal for St Joseph Convent HS.
Our Lady of Snow’s High School, Raia edged past Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim 6-5 via the tie-breaker to book semis berth. 
Denny Cardozo, Nipun Tete, Aliston Cardozo, Teran Fernandes and Sanjiro Panje netted for Our Lady of Snow’s HS while Velroy Rebello, Clawson Fernandes, Sam Pereira and Presley Gomes scored for Perpetual Succour Convent HS.
