RAIA: Loyola HS, Margao, and The Kings School, Sao Jose De Areal entered the semifinals of the all-Goa inter-school under-14 football tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa and played at Seraulim panchayat ground.
In the boys category, Loyola High School defeated The Kings School, Sao Jose De Areal 3-2. The Kings took the lead in the 8th minute for the first half through Trishan Gomes. The Kings goalkeeper Farhan came to his teams rescue and saved his team on couple of occasions. The score was 1-0 at half time.
Loyola High school found the equaliser through Joseph De Costa to level the score at 1-1 in the 35th minute of play. Thereafter it was Loyola High School again who scored two quick goals from Reuben Barbosa in the 45th and 47th minute. The
The Kings School scored a consolation goal through Elrad Braganza just a few minutes before the final whistle.
In the girls category, The Kings School, Sao Jose De Areal defeated Fatima Convent High School, 2-1. Karen D’Souza and Manashvi Sambhji scored for The Kings and Shalaika Rodrigues reduced the margin for Fatima.
Player of the Match was awarded to Reuben Barbosa from Loyola High school in the boys category and to Analee D’Costa from The Kings School in the girls category.
