MARGAO: Loyola HS, OL Rosary HS & St Mary’s HS, Chinchinim moved ahead in the U-14 Salcete Taluka Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament organised By DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda on Monday.
In the first match, Loyola HS defeated St Jude’s HS, Betabatim 4-1. Ashnoy Gomes excelled for Loyola’s scoring all the four goals while Vishwanath Talwar reduced the margin for St Jude’s HS.
OL of Rosary HS, Fatorda also moved ahead in the tournament with a 3-2 tie-breaker win over Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna after the full session ended goalless.
Rehan Gomes, Freson Furtado and Aman Hanabarathi shot on target for OL of Rosary HS while Jarel D’Silva and Tanish Simoes found the mark for Regina Martyrum HS.
In the third match, St Mary’s HS, Chinchinim thumped OL of Health HS, Cuncolim 4-0.
Leading by a goal in the first session, St Mary’s School scored through a brace by Cydal Rebello and a goal each by Sohil Shaikh and Trish Pinto.
