MARGAO: A superb hat-trick by Danstan Fernandes enabled Loyola High School, Margao to rout Rosary High School, Navelim 5-0 and advance into the semi-finals of Salcete Taluka under-14 boys inter-school football tournament, at Manora ground, Raia, on Wednesday.
Loyola toyed with the rival defence and pushed them on the back-foot through out the match. Warren Pereira scored a brace.
In the second match, St Anthony High School, Majorda defeated Our Lady of Snow High School, Raia 2-1. Lencyn Dias and Lenny Vaz were the goal getters while Cleon Fernandes reduced the margin for OL of Snow.
Loyola HS will now meet St Anthony HS, Majorda while Fr Agnel Multipurpose HS, Verna will clash with Assumpta Convent HS, Sarzora in the semis.
