Macau bags six wushu medals on day two

PEDDEM: Macau China strutted their stuff on the Talou platform as they bagged a six medal haul on day two of the wushu competition of the Lusofonia Games at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Peddem, today.

PEDDEM: Macau China strutted their stuff on the Talou platform as they bagged a six medal haul on day two of the wushu competition of the Lusofonia Games at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Peddem, today.
Ho Pui Kei thwarted Valerie Britto to claim gold in women’s Taiji Jian, while Chan Ian out-scored Ana Ramos to bag a gold in women’s Nan gun and also claimed silver in women’s Nan dao losing out to gold medal winner, Margareth Sako of Brazil. 
Sapana Yumlembam and Ayapana Toshibala Ngangom of Goa India bagged gold and bronze respectively in women’s Gun shu while Lei Weng Si of Macau settled for silver.
In the men’s events Tong Weng Fai of Macau, D Senarath of Sri Lanka and Jorge Rodrigues of Portugal grabbed gold, silver and bronze respectively in Taiji Jian. 
Sri Lankan Prabhat Manurang bagged a gold medal in Nan gun and Nan dao while Filipe Ramos settled for silver in both categories.
17-year-old Song Chi Kuam of Macau scored 9.52 to beat Goa India’s Anjul Namdeo to claim gold in Qiang Shu.
Brandon Da Silva put on a technically solid display to in Gun shu to ensure gold for Brazil. Rodolfo Torres of Portugal and Chirag Sharma of Goa India settled for silver and bronze respectively.
Day three of wushu kicks off at 9 a.m. with the finals of the Sanshou bouts and Talou dual event.
All seven finals will include members of team Goa India, with officials stating that they expect the host nation to pocket atleast five of the seven available gold medals.
There will be five Sanshou bouts including women’s 60 kgs and 75 kgs and men’s 56 kgs, 65 kgs and 70 kgs.
There will also be two Talou events which include a synchronized performance by athletes of the same country. This event will include usage of bear hands as well as weapons.
