MARGAO: A breezy knock by Kanishk Masurkar (52 runs) and Suyash Gawande (47 not out) helped Mahila and Nutan High School to defeat Damodar High School by 46 runs to move ahead in the under-17 inter-school Salcete taluka cricket tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at SAG practice ground, Fatorda. on Thursday.
Batting first, Mahila Nutan HS scored 146 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Damodar School, Latif Shaikh and Saisha Avakhale took one wicket each.
In reply, Damodar High School, scored 100 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs with K Ramachandra top scoring with18 runs. Suyash Gawande and Anirudha Bhat took three wickets apiece.
