Mahindra United has a chance to advance close to leaders Dempo Sports Club when they clash with the Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan in the 22nd round of the ONGC Indian League here tomorrow.
The Mumbai outfit slipped four points behind Dempo’s 41 from twenty-one plays after 1-2 defeat to Shillong Lajong FC, a first-timer in the Indian soccer premier league game but still have five points advantage of third placed and holders Churchill Brothers, who have a match in hand.
On the other hand, former champion Mohun Bagan after a series of failure in the second leg of the 14-team competition came alive in the previous game with 4-0 win at Air India and revived hope for doing better in the tournament.
Mohun Bagan now have 29 points from 20 games and are placed on fifth behind Chirag United’s 31 from 21 matches.
