PANJIM: Maina Sports Club entered the finals of Loutulim panchayat cup football organised by Socio Cultural Club of Loutlim defeating U C Benaulim 4-3 via the tie-breaker at Montir gound, Loutulim. They will meet Verna Sports Club on January 22.
The teams were level 2-2 at full time. Serino Noronha scored a brace for Maina and gave them a 2-0 lead. Brandon Fernandes and Santan Fernandes scored for U C Benaulim in the last five minutes.
In the tie-breaker, Agnelo D’Costa, Reo Mascarenhas, Jose Fernandes and Nelson Fernandes scored for Maina while Santan Fernandes, Brandon Fernandes and Alfred Fernandes scored for Benaulim.
