VELIM: Maina SC got the better of SCC Cavelossim 5-2 to move into the semi-finals of the Velim Panchayat Cup football tournament organised by Sports and Welfare Club of Zaino Velim, at St Francis Xavier Church ground, Velim, on Friday.
Maina’s Josly Gomes opened the score sheet with a snapshot in the 8th minute. Within two minutes, Clive Colaco’s curler made it 2-0 for Maina.
Josly Gmes netted his brace and made it 3-0 for Maina in the 21st minute.
Nevil Fernandes and Myson Fernandes got their name on the score sheet in the 28th and 32nd minutes respectivelyto make it 5-0 for Maina .
In the second half, Maina played calmly which cost them two goals which came from Alex Rodrigues of SCC Cavelossim in the 41st and 50th minutes respectively.
