Cuncolim had a maiden opportunity to open the account in the seventh minute but Leander D’Cunha miss-fired with only the rival goalkeeper at his mercy.
Soon, Fraser Fernandes shot over.
Then, Welson Fernandes of Maina SC shot straight into the goalkeepers hand in the 17th minute while Seby Martins did the same, minutes later.
After the lemon break, the teams showed urgency to score and put attacking raids and created couple of openings in rival territories.
A free-kick taken by Welson Fernandes in the 55th minute was well connected by Bruno Fernandes of Maina SC but the latters header sailed over.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Bruno Fernandes, Joaquim Carvalho, Welson Fernandes and Neville Fernandes scored for Maina SC while Treyson D’Costa and Beston Colaco converted for Cuncolim Union.
The winners, Main SC will meet Navelim Sporting Club in the final on November 16, the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes.
