VERNA: Maina Veterans demolished Vasco Veterans 10-9 via tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of first All-Goa 8-a-side veterans football tournament organised by former footballers of Verna at Verna panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams played an attacking brand of football but failed to break the deadlock. In the second half, both the teams came closer to score but their strikers missed easy goal scoring chances. In the tie-breaker, Maina Veterans proved to be the better shooters.
