Mandopa up

PANJIM (HSD) –Mandopa Sports Club, Navelim defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 2-0 to seal their place in the finals of Fr Agnelo Youth inter-village football tournament organised by Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Cotombi, Paroda, at village panchayat ground, Avedem, Paroda on Saturday.
Mandopa broke the deadlock midway through when Nevil D’Costa punished the rival keeper with a stiff grounder.
Stung by the setback, Don Bosco Oratory tried their level best but their efforts proved futile as the opponent’s defence was too strong to repulse the rival attack.
Crossing over, Mandopa’s Nevil netted once again. Mahadev Talwar of Don Bosco was shown a yellow for rough tackle.
