MARGAO: Mapusa Dream Crushers sailed past Pai Khot Fighters by 6 wickets and 2 balls to spare in the Desserts n More +45 Veterans Sarsangan Cricket Series at Arlem Cricket ground on Tuesday.
Put in to bat first, Pai Khot Fighters put up an imposing 155/9 in 20 overs with contribution from Sarvesh Kamat 33 (31 balls, 4 x 4s) and Sandeep Phaldesai 17 (17 balls, 2 x 4s) who put on 52 runs for the 2nd wicket in 38 balls.
Their skipper Rasik Pai Khot 47 not out (37 balls, 6 x 4s) and Anish Dharwadkar 19 (17 balls, 2 x 4s) added 45 in 29 balls to help the Fighters post 155/9, with help of 21 extras, bowled by MDC.
For Mapusa Dream Crushers, Shailesh Mahajan 2-14 and Sudin Kamat 2-32 picked wickets at crucial times and received good support from Sagar Salgaocar 1-22 and Rajesh Colvalcar.
In reply, Goa ex-Ranji player, Sudin Kamat 45 (32 balls, 8 x 4s) and skipper Rajesh Colvalcar 28 (33 balls, 2 x 4s) tore apart the bowling with a 61 run opening partnership in 47 balls. The momentum was not let down as the next two batters Rajendra Prabhudesai 36 (29 balls, 4 x 4s) and Sagar Salgaocar 28 (16 balls, 2 x 6s) led Mapusa Dream Crushers to an emphatic win.
For the Pai Khot Fighters, their skipper Rasik Pai Khot picked 2-29 and Sarvesh
Kamat took 1-32. This was the 2nd win for Mapusa Dream Crushers with as many matches. Sudin Kamat was awarded man-of-the-match award.
