The centre had been coaching children consistently for a year and have over 115 kids from the age group of six to 12.
Francis Lobo, sarpanch in his address thanked the Goa Football Development Council for its belief in Marcel and allowing the kids to show the talent they posses. He further promised to take up the changing room facilities and development of teh ground for young trainees.
GFDC Council member Shantaram Naik congratulated the children who dedicately came daily for coaching and urged their parents to continue encouraging their young ones as football also inculcates good health and discipline.
Speaking on the occasion GFDC Chairman, Dr. Rufino Monteiro showed immense pleasure with increase participation since the start of the centre and has urged the centre to enrol more kids specially girls who should reap the benefits.
He thanked Syngenta for coming forward and adopting the centre as corporate social responsibility by funding for nutrition for all trainees which is a big boost.
The centre is coached by Tushar Bhagat, Shailesh More and Deepak Chetri and overseen by Centre Manager Dayanand Bhagat and club members Shailesh Bhagat, Arvind Amonkar, Babi Chodankar and Salil Azgaonlkar.
