Margao SC beat Cansaulim to lock horns with St Anthony SC in final

BENAULIM: Margao SC defeated CAC Cansaulim 3-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the St Sebastian Union Club Benaulim Cup football tournament, played at St John the Baptist ground, Benaulim, on Monday.

BENAULIM: Margao SC defeated CAC Cansaulim 3-2 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the St Sebastian Union Club Benaulim Cup football tournament, played at St John the Baptist ground, Benaulim, on Monday.
Margao SC got the first chance of the match through Roque Borges but the lad failed to connect the ball supplied by Cliff Barretto in the 3rd minute.
CAC Cansaulim’s Domnic Soares power packed shot hit Margao SC’s side netting. 
As the match progressed, Cansaulim’s Richard Rodrigues tried a solo effort through but his effort was saved by Margao keeper Swizel Pereira. 
Margao’s Christopher Borges shot was easily saved by Clinton Silva keeper of Cansaulim. There was no score at the end of regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Margao SC netted through Francis Andrade, Necil Pinto and Clive Miranda while CAC Cansaulim scored through Jessito Dias and Anthony Cardozo.
Margao SC Will meet St Anthony SC Colva in the final on July 16.
