RAIA: Sports Club blanked CAC Cansaulim 4-0 in the inaugural match to move ahead in the Loutolim Panchayat Cup organised by Socio-Cultural Club, Loutolim, played at Montir ground, Loutolim, on Thursday.
In the first session of play, CAC Cansaulim’s Arron Fernandes missed the opportunity to score in the 10th minute of play, while Margao SC Francisco Andrade’s left footer missed the target by whiskers before the half time. The score line remained 0-0 at the break.
Changing over, Margao SC drew the first blood through Hanshlum Furtado with neat placement in the 40th minute, while Dominic Soares shot from the box was punched away by Margao SC keeper Carol Soares.
Later on, Edison Dias scored for Margao SC in the 50th minute. In the last quarter, Hanshlum Furtado scored twice in the 55th and 60th minutes to complete his hat-trick. Loutolim Sarpanch Joana Fernandes presented the man-of-the-match to Hanshlum Furtado of Margao SC.
