CAVELOSSIM: Margao Sports Club defeated Roseman Cruz Nagoa-Verna 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of Cavelossim Village Panchayat Cup organised by SCC of Cavelossim at Fr Dunstan and Wellington ground, Cavelossim, on Thursday.
Margao SC opened the scoring when Cliff Baretto put a beautiful through pass to Neceil Pinto who made no mistake to net in.
Immediately, Cristo De Mello of Roseman Cruz equalised.
At half time, both the team were held to a 1-1 draw. Post resumption, the teams went all out to score but in vain.
At the end of regulation time, both teams were held at 1-1. In the resultant tie-breaker, Roque, Valito, Necil, Edgar and Cliff were on target Margao Sports Club while Savio, Myron, Noel, and Valison could convert for Roseman Cruz.
