PEDDA-BENAULIM: Mark Caterers edged past Chinchinim Veterans 2-1 to enter the final of the 1st all Goa UK /US Boys Veterans soccer tournament, organised by MIX friends Benaulim, at Xembu Moll ground, Benaulim, on Saturday.
Mark Caterers took the lead in the 15th minute when Markus headed a beautiful curling kick giving no chance to Chinchinim keeper Jessley. Just before the half time, Mark Caterers’ Robert’s long ball was tipped into their own goal by Chinchinim defender Mathew.
After the resumption of second half, Chinchinim increased the tempo trying to reduce the margin and were successful when Jitendra scored off a powerful shot beating the Nuvem keeper.
Chinchinim went all guns out in last minutes but Nuvem defence led by Vincent and Santan Colaco held tight.
