MAPUSA: St. Anthony’s SC, Marna, had an easy outing as they trounced Assonora United SC 6-1 margin in a Candolim Panchayat Cup football match at Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground Candolim, on Thursday.
Marna opened their flood gates in the 15th minute through Siddhant Shirodkar’s header.
Marna doubled the lead with Siddhant netting his second goal off Chandrakant’s low cross.
As the match progressed, Sadanand Shirodkar, Chandrakant Shirodkar and Dalesh Pednekar (2) scored further for Marna. Assnora managed to pull back through Gaurav Naik following a goalmouth melee.
Marna’s Siddhant Shirodkar received the man-of-the match award from the chief guest Jasmine D’Souza, former national hockey wizard from Candolim.
