PANJIM: Master Blasters won the Friends Cricket League T20 Tournament, organised by Chirag Naik, after defeating Wicket Wizards in the final, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Dehradun, recently.
Goa’s Leader of Opposition and Former Chief Minister Digamber Kamat presented the winners’ trophy to Master Blasters, who were led by Sudesh Rane.
Altogether seven teams from Goa participated in the tournament. Wicket Wizards were led by Anup Kudchadkar.
The following are the awards: Venkatesh Nevgi was named Man-of-the-Series. Apoorva Bhembre bagged the Man-of-the-Match. Kapil Sinai Borkar was the best batsman while Sudesh Prabhudesai was the best bowler. Best wicketkeeper award was bagged by Paresh Padiyar and Anup Kudchadkar was the best fielder.
Yogesh Naik won the best catch award.
All players were selected through proper auctions held at Margao. This was the sixth edition of FCL. For the first 3 years, FCL was played at Margao Cricket Club.
