MARGAO: Margao Cricket Club (MCC) thumped Chowgule Warriors in the super over to book their place in the last eight of Babu Brothers T20 all-Goa cricket tournament, organized by Babu Brothers Sports Association, at SAG practice ground, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Batting first, Chowgule Warriors scored 160 for 8. Avdhoot Amonkar top scored with 25 runs. He was well supported by Suraj Shinde who chipped in 23 runs.
For MCC, Aditya Angle was the wrecker in chief scalping 4 for 30. Chasing 161 runs, MCC scored 160 runs for 6 in 20 overs. Rajesh Ghodge (44) and Parishit Shetty (44) put up a splendid show and provided a solid start for the winners .
In reply, MCC also scored same score for the loss of six wickets. In the super over, MCC’s Man-of-the-match Sufiyan Alam scored 14 runs while Chowgule Warriors just scored eight runs.
