RAIA: United Club of Verna scored a convincing 4-0 win over Sinquerim Sports Club to move into the quarter-finals of 16th London Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament 2024 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club at Goa Velha Sports Club ground, on Sunday.
Frazer D’Costa put United Club of Verna ahead in the 10th minute of play. Mecklito D’Costa made it 2-0 in favour of United Club of Verna in the 32nd minute of play.
At half time, the score read 2-0 in favour of United Club of Verna.
Mecklito scored his brace and the third goal for United Club of Verna in the 47th minute of play. Elrich Fernandes completed the rout for United Club of Verna and put further misery on Sinquerim Sports Club in the 69th minute of play.
Rajat Naik of Sinquerim Sports Club was cautioned by the Match Referee Jan Rodrigues.
