MAPUSA: Merces Vaddy SC hammered Adarsh Yuvak Sangh Saligao 4-1 in the Shanti Morada Soccer Cup, organised by Adarsh YS Saligao, played at Saligao ground, on Sunday.
In the early 5th minute of play Adarsh took the lead through Jayganesh Goltekar who scored from inside the 18-yard box, 1-0.
Changing ends Merces were all over their rivals coming on with several threatening moves.
Shashank Naik levelled terms for Merces when his long range effort crashed into the back of the Saligao nets, 1-1. Couple of minutes into the match Shashank scored in similar style to put Merces into the lead, 2-1.
In the 50th minute of play Jayendra scored through a placement for Merces while towards the fag end of the match Shashank rounded off the score to 4-1.
