MARGAO: Fr Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School thumped Assumpta Convent High School Sarzora 5-1 in the Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 football tournament, held at the Astro turf ground, Fatorda, on Friday .
Meuton Fernandes scored hat-trick for the winners.
Fr Agnel netted the first goal of the match through Velroy Fernandes before Meuton Fernandes doubled the account in the 20th minute. Flan Gomes scored the third just before the breather.
Fr Agnel upcoming striker Meuton netted two more goals in the second half while Wayne Fernandes pulled a goal back for Assumpta.
In the other match, Regina Martyrum High School Assolna defeated Gauncar Higher Secondary School, Raia 2-0.
Regina Martyrum netted through Jasvir Crasto and Austin Pinto.
Holy Spirit Institute Margao defeated St Alex Higher Secondary School Curtorim 4-2 in a tiebreaker. Teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Holy Spirit netted through Harsh Patre while Josly Moura scored for Curtorim school.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Holy Spirit Institute Margao proved to be better shooters.
