MAPUSA: Milagres Sports Club registered an impressive 4-2 victory over Football Club of Tuem in the GFA’s 3rd Division League (Bardez zone) match, at Duler Stadium, here, on Monday. Both the teams went into the breather with a 1-1 draw.
Milagres SC took the lead in the early minutes of the match when Edwin Viegas neatly set up Shailesh Misquin inside the danger zone, where the latter made no mistake to slam the ball home.
After several missed chances, Tuem found the precious equaliser through the boots of Chandraji Gawas.
Milagres came back into the second session more aggressively and fired in two goals through Rego Baretto and Edwin Viegas.
Tuem managed to net in one goal through Richard Fernandes to take the score to 3-2, only to see Rego Baretto net in his brace with barely minutes left for the full time whistle, 4-2.
At Candolim ground, Nerul Sports Club breezed past rivals Saligao United Sports Club by a 4-1 margin.
It was Saligao who took the lead in the 21st minute of play through Aloysious Fernandes, whose power-packed long ranger had no answer from the rival keeper.
However, two minutes before the breather Nerul not only got the equaliser, but also took the lead through a fine brace by Atul More2-1.
On resumption, Nerul fired in two more goals through Deep Raj and Atul More.
