MAPUSA: Milagres Sports Club had to wait for the shootout as they got the better of St Augustias Pomburpa 5-3 via the tie-breaker to advance ahead in the late Shruti Pednekar Memorial Soccer Trophy, organsied by Sodiem Siolim SC, played at Khorier ground, Sodiem on Tuesday.
The teams were locked goalless at the end of the regulation time.
In the second session, Milagres had a chance to score from the penalty spot but Stephen Martins failed to score.
In the tie-breaker Milagres scored through Apnesh, Stephen, Nehal, Leonand, Shubham while for St Augustias colts Akash, Carlton and Sairaj scored on target.
