Mohammedan Sporting have recruited a new international talent by signing young Australian defender Samuel Jordan Shore.
The 24-year-old has played for Australia in the Sydney Olympics before and he has been signed after a three-week trial at Mohammedan.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, he will be one of the tallest defenders in the I-League Second Division and his height and physical presence will definitely strengthen Mohammedan defensively and aid them in regaining a spot in next year’s I-League.
Mohammedan coach Shabbir Ali seems to be very excited about his new foreign prospect. During a talk with Goal.com he said, “He (Shore) is a very hardworking player and will fit into the team well. We are pleased with his performance in the trial. He played some practice matches and the results were satisfactory.”
If Shore is put into the starting line up for the final round of the Second Division I-League campaign, he will partner former East Bengal and India defender Anupam Sarkar.
